On December 14th, 2024, The L1 Foundation hosted its annual A Night of Elegance, a spectacular evening dedicated to celebrating community impact, honoring incredible leaders, and raising funds to support our mission of fostering wellness and empowerment.
Honoring Extraordinary Contributions
One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing six remarkable individuals who have played pivotal roles in advancing the foundation’s mission. Allow us to introduce this year’s honorees:
1. Dr. Patrice Allen – An impassioned advocate for student experiences and engagement, Dr. Allen’s leadership has transformed our trajectory, enabling us to reach students in elementary schools across the southern region. Her passion and unwavering commitment inspire us all.
2. Nickita Breaux – Known for her innovative approach to addressing community challenges, Nickita has been instrumental in positioning The L1 Foundation in spaces we couldn’t imagine, proving that creative solutions drive lasting change.
3. Roderick Campbell – A steadfast partner in the healthcare industry, Roderick’s ability to connect and uplift others has aligned the Foundation with industry experts and strategic partners, yielding remarkable positive returns.
4. Joshua Jones – A visionary leader, Joshua has collaborated with us to provide nutritional education and champion life skills through gardening. His efforts have paved the way for sustainable growth and progress.
5. Dr. Everette Penn – Renowned for his heart for service and justice, Dr. Penn’s expertise and guidance have been invaluable. His insights will be paramount to the Foundation’s upcoming projects.
6. Cara Sylvers – Cara’s passion for synergy has inspired others to take action. Her leadership, vision, and work ethic have left a lasting impact behind the scenes, and we look forward to a fruitful 2025 under her guidance.
Together, these six outstanding individuals have helped us expand programs, reach underserved communities, and build partnerships that change lives. Their contributions have made 2024 a year to remember.
An Evening of Entertainment and Impact
The evening, hosted by the charismatic KG Smooth of Majic 102.1, featured a special performance by the talented Erikah Nocturnal, captivating the audience with her soulful artistry. Guests enjoyed live music, fine dining, and an atmosphere of celebration and purpose.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the event raised over $23,000 in support of The L1 Foundation’s programs. Notable contributions included:

A Special Gift to Shamar Hope Haven
Taking our commitment to the community a step further, The L1 Foundation was honored to present Shamar Hope Haven with funds to purchase fitness equipment. This donation ensures their residents can continue engaging in physical activity while at the facility, fostering hope, health, and brighter futures for those in need.
